I’m adding the third star for the atmospheric ending, where at last something interesting happens. Otherwise, it’s a weak film, and I’m saying this as someone who loves science fiction and horror. ()
Professor Quatermass is quite an interesting character, but in this film, I was more captivated by the colorful execution and the individual special effects, which are quite good. The story felt like a mishmash of everything possible that sci-fi offered at the time, although it's true that the author of the source material had this story out for quite a while with the screenplay. But somehow I couldn't get into the story. ()
