Biografía

Mncedisi Shabangu began his acting career in 1992. One of his first performances was in the play Secret Agenda. In 1995, he enrolled as a student at The Market Theatre Laboratory while continuing to appear in local theatre productions.
In 1998, he was invited to attend the Royal National Theatre's studio summer acting school. His subsequent stage credits have included Orpheus; Ways of Dying; and Call Us Crazy, for which he won the FNB Vita Award for Best Supporting Actor. More recently, he won a Standard Bank Artist Award.
Mr. Shabangu also works as a theatre director, and has helmed several productions at The Market Theatre in Johannesburg, including Wangesheya–Wangesheya; Kanyamazane Galvanomit Akusit; and Barbershop.
He is also director of Babuyile Theatre Group, a community theatre in Nelspruit; and continues his work with The Market Theatre, now as associate artistic director.
