Biografía

Bohumil Šejda (1923), an animator, artist and film director, has stood for restoring the tradition of cartoon films to Zlín's film studios. He often collaborated with the artist Vladimír Jiránek, with whom he also made his first film, the whimsical slapstick The Old Man and the Mouse (Stařec a myš, 1974). He further directed the films Bull's-eye! (Čtyřikrát do černého, 1978) and Hupsalka the Water-nymph (Rusalka Hupsalka, 1983). For TV he made the series Three Marmots (Tri sviste, 1979), The Mice, My Girlfriends (Moje priateľky myšky, 1987) and Gabo the Bird (Vták Gabo, 1991).
