Biografía

Cinematographer. He studied cinema and television at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He directed four shortfilms, which granted him several awards. At 21 years he wrote La sombra del caminante, his directorial debut film, with which he won 15 awards and several mentions at different film festivals worldwide. Los viajes del viento, his second feature film, was part of the official selection for the Cannes Fil Festival in 2009. It was premiered in 17 countries and it was selected in more than 90 festivals. El abrazo de la serpiente, his third feature film, won the Art Cinema Award for best movie within the Directors Forthnight at Cannes, 2015. It was the first colombian nominated for an Academy Award for best foreign language film. It was premiered in more than 50 countries worldwide.
