Born in 1985 in Athens, Loukianos Moshonas studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague as well as at the Le Fresnoy-Studio national des arts contemporains. He makes several short films including Rien de tout ceci (2009) and Charles et Quentin (2011). Having participated in the TorinoFilmLab, the Works in Progress workshop in Karlovy Vary, and the Rome Festival's New Cinema Network, he is now in pre-production for his first feature, Ni dieu, ni maître, based on Manodopera (2016).
