A 1998 graduate of NYU’s Film School, Kyle Newman was the recipient of that year’s NYU/Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film/TV Excellence in Directing Award. While at NYU, he completed several award winning shorts. THE CYCLIST, a short film about reincarnation, was a Finalist at the 1997 Hollywood Film Festival. BITTEN BY LOVE, his sixty-second long, Grand Prize-winning film in Coca-Cola’s Refreshing Filmmakers Award competition, debuted at ShoWest 1998 and played theatrically on 18,000 screens nationwide. ARTFLICK 001, an animated short film that Newman wrote and directed, was an Official Selection at both Sundance Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2004 he directed the ABC Family Original film THE HOLLOW (a modern retelling of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow), which anchored the network’s 13 Nights Of Halloween programming. He will be helming a biopic about legendary Rock DJ Wolfman Jack starring Tony award-winner Dan Fogler.
