Biografía

Joséphine Flasseur (b. 1975, Paris) started her career by shooting experimental movies on Super 8. Since 1997 she has shot five short films. At the same time she worked as an actress in film and theater. In 1997–1999 she worked for the Cannes film festival performing public relations services involving tributes to directors (e.g. Robert Altman and Dino Risi). Her films most often treat the theme of the dysfunctional family. Her first short picture, Auto-stop (1997), as well as a later short, Brûlure Indienne (2000), took awards from the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée. Her latest short Dans la Forêt Noire (2004) was presented in the Quinzaine des réalisateurs section at the Cannes IFF. E.N.V.I.E is her feature debut.
