Biografía

She was born in El Salvadoe but resides in Mexico, She graduated from the CCC, in Mexico City, where she has been teaching. In 1997 she filmed her shortfilm Tiempo Caústico. Her debut feature film, El lugas más pequeño, premiered in 2011, is a testimony of what happened in the civil war in El Salvador, by which she has won many awards and it was shown in more that fifty festivals around the world. In her works she has portrayed the impunity many have to face in the hands of the laws and institutions, trying to humanize the victims. In Tempest, which won the Fénix prize of Ibero-american cinema in 2016 for best documentary, tells the real account of mexican women Myriam Carvajal, who spent almots a year in a Matamoros jail, acussed of human traficking even though she was innocent and of Adela Alvarado, who is looking for her missing daughter.
