Biografía

Gyula Pados graduated from the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, Hungary in 1997. Pados came up in the industry working as a camera assistant to legendary cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, before enlisting in the Budapest Film School's comprehensive four-year camera course in 1990. In his first year there, Pados directed the short film Dawn, which won four festival prizes.

He was cinematographer on the baseball drama Million Dollar Arm, starring Jon Hamm, directed by Craig Gillespie. Previously he was the cinematographer on the action adventure Predators starring Adrien Brody, and the historical drama The Duchess starring Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes, and Charlotte Rampling, for which Pados won a Satellite Award for best cinematography.

Pados has been director of photography on Metallica Through the Never, Adventurers, Evening, Basic Instinct 2, Fateless, Stop Mom Theresa!, Kontroll, The Heart of Me, and Hotel Splendide. He was director of photography on the pilot for the TV series Scorpion, and on the TV movie Trooper.
