Elena Weihe

Elena Weihe is an editor of feature films and documentaries screened at festivals all over the globe, whose work includes "Drifter" (directed by Hannes Hirsch, 2023) and "Before We Grow Old" (directed by Thomas Moritz Helm, 2019) which both premiered at Berlinale.

During her studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (2018-23) she expanded her passion towards sound design on several short films, among them "Volver al Sur" (directed by Sofia Ayala, 2022) which screened at the Cannes Film Festival as part of Next Generation Short Tiger 2023.

Further, she made a radio play "Sabines Hand" (2020) that won several audience and jury prizes at festivals and worked as sound designer on "Speaking of Berlin", a storytelling podcast series by the language learning app Babbel. Her deepening experience and explorations in sound design inspire and influence her style and work as an editor and filmmaker.
