Melody Zara

Born in Tehran, Iran at the height of the revolution, Melody Khazae spent her infancy in Greece before settling with her family in Southern California. There, the acting bug took hold. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in drama from the University of California at Irvine. She also studied at the Larry Moss Studio and Steppenwolf West. Since then, her unique background has allowed her to play myriad characters from an Indian girl onstage in "Lysistrata" to 16 Latina, Iraqi, and Italian characters in various films. Fluent in Farsi, she has used her language skills on screen as well. Her portrayal of Zahra is her first leading role in a feature film.
