Fernando Lavanderos Montero

Biografía

Fernando Lavanderos (b. 1974, Santiago, Chile), film and TV director, screenwriter, producer, cameraman and film editor, studied journalism and audiovisual communications at Universidad de las Artes y Ciencias de la Comunicación in Santiago (1994–97). In 1996-98 he shot the short films Agua a la vista, No me despido, Espero encontrarte and El cielo y la tierra. In 2000 he co-directed the successful documentary No Harvest This Year (Este año no hay cosecha) and also worked as a TV cameraman. His feature film debut And Cows Fly (Y las vacas vuelan, 2003) was a hit with both audiences and critics and won a number of international awards. He established Duende Films in 2004 and turned out a series of documentaries entitled “My Private World” (“Mi mundo privado”). Things the Way They Are won Best Latin American Film at the Mar del Plata FF.
