András, the track-watchman lives at the guarding post number 5 with his pretty young wife, Zsuzsa. András is just on his tour of inspection, when Török Kálmán, the village clerk turns up and is surprised to recognize in Zsuzsa the maid who once worked at the castle and whom he used to like a lot. He starts courting her again. She sends him away, but the clerk promises to call again. András finds an overrun man down by the bank with the clerk's hat next to it. Based on the testimonies, the investigative judge suspects murder. He accuses András of having pushed the clerk under the train out of jealousy. They are about to lead him away, when the clerk appears, whose hat was only blown next to the unlucky man by the wind. The charge collapses. Although the clerk has promised her marriage, the flirtatious woman stays with her husband. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
