Guy de Maupassant's story about an unexpected inheritance vividly illustrates how envy and jealousy can easily lead to bitterness and personal resentment. From there, it's only a small step to hatred. Karel Roden's performance demonstrates that even at the beginning of his career, he was already an interesting and charismatic actor with a wide range of acting skills. Overall impression: 65%.
