This is very much a missed opportunity. Not only because the theme of Ghost Whisperer itself lends itself to a very good parody. Jennifer Love Hewitt is incredibly sexy on her show, she has good chemistry with her husband, she sees ghosts... So in essence, she could experience plenty of eroticism vicariously or join long-dead couples, and a marriage classic would be nice too. And although Katie Morgan is a very good actress (Zack and Miri Make a Porno), this was not the right role for her. Melinda has to have dark hair and in order to have some authenticity you have to at least pretend to be similar to the setting of the original series. There's no such thing here. The only thing that reminds me of the original series is the rather daring mini dress that Mel takes out once in a while.
