Peruvian Nancy's life alternates between hard work as a coal burner and her family growing apart. Her son dreams big, while her grandparents wish to escape to the country. Behind the smoke, a world is unveiled where affection is scarce and debt is all you get. Instead of interviews, the filmmakers compose their subjects through carefully selected and framed everyday events and casual conversations.
