Sinopsis(1)

In Germany, the colour brown represents the darkest episode in its history. Videomaker Friederike Anders took this colour as a starting point for making an associative film about present and past. The film begins with a German couple who shed light on the immigrants in Germany. Next, the film shows images of a burning house in Rostock where people lived who had requested asylum. The responsible minister commented that "the strangers have brought it down on themselves by behaving abnormally". Friederike Anders goes back and forth between present and past, showing images and remarks on the brown uniforms worn by the 'Hitlerjugend' and the name Braun of Hitler's mistress. At the end the observation is made that faeces are also brown. The German word 'Scheisse' seems applicable to many situations. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
