Much-discussed feature film that was originally released in Germany as Heddas Rache. In the Netherlands, the film was only released when the 'Commission of Authority' ordered some alterations to the film due to its 'lewd purport'. Vrouwenlijden, or 'prostitution's baby' tells the story of a young woman who cannot marry her great love because her mother used to be a madam. But not without reason; a man brought misfortune on her at the time. And now Hedda wants to avenge her mother. (Nederlands Film Festival)
