How Wolves Change Rivers (2014)

inglés You wouldn't believe how interconnected every single animal, plant and overall component of nature around us is, as told in this solidly filmed and rewarding five-minute short that features beautiful footage and ideas.

Closet Space (2016)

inglés One woman! One man! One chamber! Lots of multiplied things! And poof!!! Quite an imaginative short, although I probably got a bit lost at the end.

Lights Out (2013)

inglés I almost wouldn't believe that it's possible to build solid tension and create a sense of fear in just three minutes, but this scary short is proof of that.

Mejor... solteras (2016)

inglés How to Be Single could be labeled as "an unpretentious flick for a relaxing evening where you can just turn yourself off". The biggest portion of entertainment was provided by Rebel Wilson, who was unmissable (thanks to her body proportions). I liked the soundtrack, the film moved along nicely, and the plot wasn't quite so stupidly predictable, so it wasn't too much of a pain in the ass and I was satisfied in the end. All in all, a nicely made romantic comedy with a mostly likeable cast, where you can see how things can be for single people (but don’t have to).

Muslo o pechuga (1976)

inglés The Wing or The Thigh is a timeless classic within the comedy genre that I certainly never get tired of, and I like to watch it from time to time. Louis de Funés was a truly great comedian who created one of the most distinctive comic characters that won the hearts and admiration of many a viewer. The story is solidly constructed and the gags and sketches work well even after all these decades. One of the gems of French comedy that has aged as well as fine wine.

Arthur y la guerra de los mundos (2010)

inglés The conclusion of the Invisibles trilogy is comparable in quality to the first part and, unlike the second part, it has at least some story, which is a significant shift and a plus point at the same time. Some of the ideas were well thought out, but often the wants to please mainly a younger audience, and therefore it felt infantile here and there. But the final action scenes made up for this shortcoming, and felt believable within reason. A passable (albeit simple) ending to the saga of Arthur and the Invisibles that doesn't impress, but doesn't offend either.

Arthur y la venganza de Maltazard (2009)

inglés This is definitely the weakest part of the Invisibles trilogy, it works more as a bridge between the first and the third part than as a standalone film, and it is especially a fertile ground for the conclusion of the trilogy, so it is important to watch the third part right away to achieve some effect. Some of the ideas were nice, but it often slipped into the dull and sometimes slightly embarrassing. In short, a film that was made solely to set the mood for the final part.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

inglés The third installment of the Iron Man trilogy definitely impressed me the most, especially thanks to a more elaborate story and a quite unexpected plot twist around the main villain. The film is action-packed from head to toe, but there is still room for a joke here and there. As far as the audiovisual workmanship is concerned, this is where I think it has been taken the furthest. In short, a trilogy climax with all the trimmings, which is not as good as the first Avengers or the second and third Captain America, but still engages, thrills and entertains.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

inglés The second part of Iron Man is comparable in quality to the first one, with Nick Fury and especially Black Widow entering the story more this time, so the cast is getting fuller and better. In addition, a charismatic villain played by Mickey Rourke appears on the scene to give the protagonist a proper hard time. From a technical standpoint, again, a job nicely done, so along with the passable story, I was satisfied. A film that mainly acts as a bit of a connector and breeding ground for later team-ups, but it works, and that counts.

Iron Man (2008)

inglés I've kept Iron Man in my drawer for a long time, but since I wanted to fill out the Marvel Universe, it was necessary to go back to almost the very beginning of this comic book franchise. After watching the first one, I was already up to speed and knew how Tony Stark got his glowing chest ornament, or how and why the suit itself came to be. All in all, this is a decently made action film with a likeable cast, nice special effects and a story that, while not as polished as the later Marvel films, still doesn't offend. In short, it's a relaxing film full of action, with a few jokes here and there, and the high ego of the main character, setting the stage for the sequels.
