Quemado por el sol 3: Ciudadela (2011)

inglés The third instalment had countless flaws again, but the previous one annoyed me more. Anyway, I'm glad that the fate of the Kotov clan has finally come to a conclusion. I only wish it had happened in the original film, as Nikita Mikhalkov intended. I wouldn't have had to watch a weird parody on war in both the following films. I wonder how the landmine action turned out. Wasn’t that the reason why the upper half of General Kotov's body was sticking out of the commander’s hatch of the front tank at the end?

Simon Amstell: Carnage (2017)

inglés I had a great time watching this film even though I'm exactly the kind of person it was directed against. So, let me just say that the filmmakers were partially right, but they also completely ignored a number of counterarguments. I did have fun, but now I'm going to give my cat a meat pouch, because she doesn't give a damn about any of this propaganda.

Mrazivá tajemství - Peklo na nebi (2018) (episodio)

inglés I have a feeling that the third season of Frozen Secrets is gaining unstoppable water and will soon sink. As a critic of any church, I could rejoice in digging into my opponents, but the creators would have to show at least a minimal sign of taste for me to appreciate their effort. This way, I did not appreciate their attempt with garbage just because I am waiting to see what they come up with next.

Asesinos internacionales (2017)

inglés I decided to watch this film based on the low ratings here, hoping it would be unintentionally hilarious just like the Sharknado series. It wasn't. They humor was so forced that it resulted in a weird, cringey affair that felt embarrassing to watch. The only funny thing was the CGI snake being shot to bits, and one star goes to Arnold for his unmistakable accent.

Doc Martin - The Morning After (2007) (episodio)

inglés The second episode of the third season was funny in the first place, so there was no risk of boredom. The doctor, Pauline, and her substitute amused me, and once again my suspicion was confirmed that dishwashers are dangerous to life. Once again, I could chuckle at romantic moments with the doctor; that person knows how to end a conversation.

E.T., el extraterrestre (1982)

inglés How else should I rate a film which showed me what a pizza looks like and that you can even eat it? But seriously, this film was the best of sci-fi for me until Terminator and The Thing landed on the video store counters. Watching it today convinced me that E.T. still has something to offer. I've already tasted pizza, so that’s one mystery less, but I had a great time just the same. The level of special effects thankfully doesn't reach today's "amazing" digital qualities, so I was able to enjoy a film that blew my mind in primary school, and I still like it very much.

Alibi.com, agencia de engaños (2017)

inglés Much to my surprise, it was oddly entertaining. The plot worked quite well, and in the moments when I, a person used to standard American romcoms, expected melodrama, the sneaky French served me some more comedy. I was considering a 3*+ rating all along, but the great tributes to other films as well as the awesome reference to “Assassin's Creed” made me give a fourth star.

La reina Victoria y Abdul (2017)

inglés I was entertained by the unexpected humor in the first half of the film, which decreased in the second half due to a more melancholy mood. But that’s okay, I don’t need to laugh all the way through. Judi Dench was great and made the whole film.

El muñeco de nieve (2017)

inglés What a disaster. I have no idea why the creators decided to introduce Harry Hole to the audience through an adaptation of the sixth part of the book series. I don't know what someone who has never read the series can take away from the film, as it contains a lot of references to the previous storyline which isn’t part of the film. The film itself didn't make much sense to me, regardless of having read the books. The filmmakers made such a mess of the original story that I’m not sure why the murders were so complicated, and most of all, why J.K. Simmons agreed to take part in it.

Půldruhé hodiny zpoždění (2009) (grabación teatral)

inglés This two-hander had me royally entertained. The play was superbly written, excellently staged and perfectly acted. The choice of actors was great, although I didn't find Daniela Kolářová nearly as relaxed as Milan Lasica, whose performance was impeccable. Both of them gave me fits of laughter in this clash of male and female perspectives on life. I enjoyed every minute of it, and it certainly wasn't the last time I've seen Pierre and Laurence.
