GLOW - Season 2 (2018) (temporada)

inglés I’m not exactly thrilled about Season 2. Reasons: there was less wrestling, there was less humor., and I'm really sick of how politically correct propaganda is implemented into almost every movie or show. It's constantly drummed into my head that if I think differently from the herd, I'm a disgusting white heterosexual pig = sexual abuser. I think contemporary filmmakers (especially those at Netflix) should put down their Marxism-Leninism pamphlets and read some Orwell or Solzhenitsyn for a change.

GLOW - Every Potato Has a Receipt (2018) (episodio)

inglés Talk about fluctuations. I had mixed feelings after the last episode, but in the finale, it's like the creators remembered all the best bits from the first season. They nailed it with this final episode, almost making me forget about the mishaps of this season. Almost. Anyway, I had a blast this time around.

GLOW - Rosalie (2018) (episodio)

inglés Wrestling took a back seat this time around. Instead, it was more about family, friends, and HIV. It sounds odd when I put it like that, but truth be told, it was actually quite enjoyable. There was just one big issue — it felt like this series had veered off course from what I originally knew it to be. I'm curious to see how the creators handle the finale of this season, considering how far they've strayed from the original intention.

GLOW - The Good Twin (2018) (episodio)

inglés Okay... this was definitely a departure from the usual. It took me right back to the 90s when we first started watching things filmed in this style, and I tried to catch as many as I could because it was all so new and exciting. But then I realized it was mostly a waste of time and I started focusing on more worthwhile shows, like Dallas :-) So yeah, it's a fantastic throwback that had me laughing with sheer delight.

GLOW - Nothing Shattered (2018) (episodio)

inglés Surprisingly, the episode earned a decent rating from me, despite the absence of wrestling and a lack of humor. The creators skillfully crafted a solid atmosphere in the hospital without resorting to excessive melodrama. Once again, Betty Gilpin delivered a brilliant performance, as she managed to make me feel negative emotions towards her character, Debbie. That's quite an achievement, considering how much I like her as an actress.

GLOW - Work the Leg (2018) (episodio)

inglés This time around, I was treated to an entertaining episode for a change. It seems we're on a nice rollercoaster ride with this series. The creators once more delved into the development (or rather, the decline) of Debbie's psyche, and they brought back the wrestling, which immediately made things more enjoyable than the endless discussions about career growth. Now, this might sound like grumbling from a narrow-minded chauvinist, but quite the opposite is true for me. I have a genuine appreciation for women, and I wholeheartedly wish for them to receive equal pay for the same job positions as men (I mean, why isn't that the standard already?). However, it seems like some fanatical feminists, who would probably prefer self-pollination if it were possible are working tirelessly to include women among all these quota-based minorities. And honestly, I think that's doing them a disservice.

GLOW - Perverts Are People, Too (2018) (episodio)

inglés Oh, for crying out loud... Netflix seems to have gone and spoiled all the fun with their constant MeToo propaganda, though I must say, I found Debbie's attitude and speech on the matter quite satisfying. She basically confirmed what I've been thinking about this whole situation. If someone bribes someone else, there are two culprits involved, right? But if someone builds a career through "forced" sex, suddenly there's only one culprit? Nah, I don't buy it.

Mi vida es una ruina (2007)

inglés I don't even know if the film was about a mid-life crisis or about how it is the last straw that breaks the camel's back. Either way, I enjoyed Bill. It wasn't an action movie, and it wasn't even fast-paced, in fact, I enjoyed the slower pace. Aaron Eckhart gave a very natural performance, and the rest of the cast followed suit. When I started to feel a cliché coming on, the filmmakers didn’t push it too hard and let the story flow. There was nothing that irritated me about the movie, and I even realized I had a goofy smile on my face a few times, so I’m not going to act like I’m a ruthless film critic and I’ll admit that I had a great time.

GLOW - Mother of All Matches (2018) (episodio)

inglés Finally! When humor hits the mark, I can overlook a lot of the usual trendy clichés. On top of that, we got some wrestling action, and then there's another extremely subjective matter... You see, I just love watching Betty Gilpin and she got plenty of screen time here, giving a brilliant performance. I had a great time watching.

GLOW - Concerned Women of America (2018) (episodio)

inglés The plot seems to be dragging a bit, and, unlike in the first season, I'm finding it hard to get those laughs in. When the humor does roll around, it's a bit awkward – case in point: the "hilarious" enema scene. I'm just waiting for Stifler's mom to make an appearance. Now that'll be a riot! 3*-
