Er ist wieder da (2015)

inglés Definitely a matter that has an idea, clear evidence that if the creator wants to warn about something, they should do so in the form of comedy, because the impact is greater. On the other hand, Germans should stop constantly apologizing for their ancestors, grandparents, and great-grandparents, especially those who did not hesitate to take advantage of anything and anyone from the former Reich after the war (for example, the American rocket program built on Werner von Braun or former SS members fighting in the Foreign Legion in French Indochina). Well, comedy and so much to contemplate...

Agente contrainteligente (2016)

inglés Along with The Dictator, the best thing Cohen has made.  A cocktail of engaging action scenes with sophisticated as well as scatological humor that oddly works as a whole. Plus, the cast is very interesting, resulting in a well-made and unpretentious comedy.

Corazones de acero (2014) ¡Boo!

inglés As so many times before, the Americans have managed to turn a promising theme into utter historical nonsense. After Band of Brothers, I thought they had already learned to stick to the historical facts, but I was dead wrong. When I saw Commander Pitt, confronted with a German camouflaged anti-tank semi-battery, order a halt in the open without it being his last order, I realized that this was just another one of those action films only loosely inspired by WW2. My assumption was supported by the duel between the three Shermans and the Tiger. The German tank commander must have been Pitt's brother, otherwise I can't see why he would have gone to meet the Americans instead of blasting them at long range. The final battle of the unmounted tank against the SS infantry battalion was downright ridiculous unless it was a special Kamikaze battalion. Mr. Ayer robbed me of more than 2 hours of my life.

Chappie (2015)

inglés I'm not saying it's a cinematographic gem, but it definitely has its bright moments. A totally wacky movie. I’m giving 4 stars because the film introduced me to Die Antwoord. When I'm bored, I watch their videos and laugh like a madman.

Vikingos - Season 2 (2014) (temporada)

inglés What joy and happiness have befallen me! I liked the first season very much and worried that the second one would not reach the same quality. And I wasn’t wrong, it was even better! A well-blended mixture of intrigue and action. Keep them coming!

Vikingos - Season 1 (2013) (temporada)

inglés The first season was a delight. A great mixture of intrigue, raw carnage, and a very interesting cast, without unnecessary tear-jerking scenes. I was totally satisfied.

22.11.63 (2016) (serie)

inglés I've read almost all of Stephen King's books, including 11.22.63, so watching this series left me a bit disappointed. I understand that adaptations require some trimming of the original story, but I don't get why new characters (like Billy) were added when they don't impact the plot at all. Another thing that really bothers me is the quota system in American films and TV shows, where a certain percentage of roles must go to Black actors. I have nothing against Black actors, but casting them in roles that don't make sense for the story feels forced. In this case, it's the character of Mimi Corcoran. Mimi was supposed to be the school's power behind the scenes, but here she's reduced to a secretary who just parrots "Yes, sir!" The plot felt uneven, and I couldn't get into it. On the bright side, James Franco and Sarah Gadon delivered very good performances.

Listy do M. (2011)

inglés A Polish variation on Love Actually, which turned out great. A well-made Christmas movie that I found relatable and fun. What more could I ask for from a Christmas romance?

Love Actually (2003)

inglés A British comedy with a fantastic cast and great humor. Since it’s a Christmas movie, it has a hefty dose of romance, but that’s not a bad thing at all. Overall, the film works wonderfully. The only parts I didn’t enjoy were the scenes with Liam Neeson, which tugged a little too much at the heartstrings. On the flip side, the characters played by Martin Freeman and Bill Nighy were excellent. "Don't buy drugs. Become a pop star and they give you them for free!"

Kolya (1996)

inglés With a screenplay by Zdeněk Svěrák, I knew I was in for a treat of intelligent humor, and I wasn't disappointed. This film is brilliantly written and genuinely hilarious. I especially appreciate how Svěrák handles emotionally charged scenes without resorting to cheesy, American-style sentimentality. Instead, these moments feel integral to the story, not forced or awkward. Honestly, I’m a huge Svěrák fan, so I can't find much to criticize here. And I'm perfectly okay with that.
