Biografía

Director, screenwriter, producer and author, Carlos Lechuga trained as a director at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba and continued his studies at the International Film and Television School in San Antonio de los Baños, specialising in screenplay. He has worked as an advisor, script doctor and second unit director alongside moviemakers including Humberto Solás, Juan Carlos Tabío, Iciar Bollaín and Ernesto Daranas. Having produced several internationally awarded short films, he made his feature film format debut with Melaza, winner of Best Latin American Film at the Malaga Festival in 2013. His second feature film, Santa y Andrés, premiered at Toronto Festival and participated in Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastian in 2016. In 2021, Vicenta B. received the EGEDA Platino Industry Award for Best WIP Latam.
