John Ashlee Prat

John Ashlee Prat won the 1992 Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation for his work on the television special Claymation Easter. A veteran animator and cinematographer, with a specialty in stop-motion, his credits also include the television specials Meet the [California] Raisins and A Claymation Christmas Celebration; the short film Dia de los muertos; and the feature film Brain Donors.

Born in Los Angeles, and raised in Mexico City, Mr. Prat graduated from the University of California, San Diego and shortly thereafter was hired as an animator at Will Vinton Studios.

He was Lighting Cameraman and then Lead Lighting/Camera, respectively, on LAIKA's first two feature films, the Academy Award-nominated Coraline and ParaNorman.
