Biografía
Roger Bart, an award-winning actor of both stage and screen, is known for his unforgettable character roles in both television and film.
Bart won a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the ensemble cast of the hit series Desperate Housewives, in which he played the deranged pharmacist George. He was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his role of Carmen Ghia in Susan Stroman's stage production of The Producers, the smash hit musical by Mel Brooks. He received Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Featured Actor in a Musical as Snoopy in the revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, directed by Michael Mayer.
He reprised the role of Carmen Ghia for Director Susan Stroman's film remake of Brooks' The Producers. He also starred in Frank Oz' The Stepford Wives as the gay Stepford wife, a role that was created for Bart based on his flamboyant role in the Broadway production of The Producers.
Bart's other film credits include: Charles Matthau's Freaky Deaky opposite Christian Slater; April Apocalypse with George Lopez; Law Abiding Citizen costarring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler; Harold & Kumar 2; Midnight Meat Train with Bradley Cooper and Brooke Shields; Ridley Scott's American Gangster co-starring Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington; Hostel 2, Jeff Garlin's comedy I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With; The Insider, starring Al Pacino and Russell Crowe. His voice credits on animated features include: Disney's Hercules (singing voice of Young Hercules) and The Lady and the Tramp II (singing voice of Scamp).
In television, Bart had a recurring role on ABC's hit series Revenge and, he starred in USA's mini-series Political Animals that was nominated for both Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
His television credits include: Episodes, as Matt LeBlanc's agent; as well as in a recurring role on the How I Met Your Mother; the SciFi Channel's mini-series The Lost Room; NBC's The Event; 30 Rock; Law & Order; Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; Human Target; CSI: Miami; and the CBS comedy Bram and Alice, directed by James Burrows.
On Broadway, Bart starred in another stage production of a Mel Brooks' film, Young Frankenstein. Again directed by Susan Stroman, Bart plays Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, opposite Megan Mullally, Sutton Foster, Shuler Hensley, Fred Applegate and Christopher Fitzgerald. Other stage credits include: The Frogs, starring opposite Nathan Lane, and Triumph of Love.
