Chelsea Hernandez is a Mexican-American filmmaker from Austin, Texas. She is a 7-time Emmy winning director, producer and editor in the Lone Star region for PBS documentary series Arts In Context. The series produced by KLRU-TV is broadcast in 80% of PBS markets nationwide including Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York. In 2012 her short See the Dirt won Austin Film Festival’s Best Short Documentary and screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. She is a NALIP (National Association for Latino Independent Producers) Latino Media Market fellow and Firelight Media Documentary Lab fellow. Chelsea is currently in production on her first feature documentary Building the American Dream which uncovers the exploitations of undocumented immigrant workers in Texas' construction industry.
