Nació en Canadá en 1971. Como actor, tiene una larga carrera, que se inició en el mundo del teatro. Su interpretación en la serie canadiense Madison le valió dos nominaciones a los premios Gemini. Defendor supone su debut en la dirección. También ha ejercido como guionista y productor.
