Biografía

Named as one of European films' Shooting Stars in 2010, Dragos Bucur was born in Bucharest and has been making feature films in his native Romania for around 10 years. As he began his film career, Dragos gained attention for his performance in Cristi Puiu's “Stuff and Dough” as well as in Radu Muntean's “Rage”, for which he was presented the Best Actor Award (2002) by the Romanian Film Critic's Society. He worked with Muntean in two further films, “The Paper Will be Blue” (2006) and “Boogie” (2008).

In 2009, Dragos starred in “Police, Adjective” (Corneliu Porumboiu), which won the Jury Prize and FIPRESCI Prize in Cannes 2009, and was that year’s Romanian submission for the Academy Award as Best Foreign Language Film. For his performance as a policeman Dragos won the Gopo as Best Actor at the 2010 Gopo Awards as well as the Best Actor Award at the 2010 BAFICI in Buenos Aires
