Biografía

Tsai Ming-Liang premiered, in the Panorama section of Berlin Festival, his first feature film, Qing shao nian nuo zha (Rebels of the Neon God, 1992), which also screened in Zabaltegi at San Sebastian. With A qing wan sui (Vive l’amour, 1994) he won the Golden Lion in Venice and with He liu (The River, 1996) the Special Jury Prize in Berlin. He landed the FIPRESCI prize for A qing wan sui (Venice, 1994), Dong (Cannes, 1998), Bu san (Goodbye, Dragon Inn, Venice, 2003) and Tian bian yi duo yun (The Wayward Cloud, Berlin, 2005). In 2015 he won the Special Grand Jury Prize for Jiao You (Stray Dogs). Rizi (Days) received the Teddy Jury Award in Berlin in 2020.
