Eva Neymann (b. 1974, Zaporozhye, Ukraine) studied law at university in the German town of Marburg and film direction at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin. After her successful short film Friere ein, taue auf (2001) she made several documentaries which were screened at various international film festivals (Just Like Old Times / Wse po-staromu / Allen beim alten, 2004; Das Meer sehen, 2005; God's Ways / Puti Gospodni / Wege Gottes, 2007). In 2007 she turned out her feature film debut At the River (U reki), which received its international premiere at the Rotterdam IFF. Her second feature film House with a Turret (Dom s bashenkoy, 2012) was screened in Karlovy Vary's East of the West competition. Song of Songs is her third feature.
