Biografía

One of the film industry's rising stars, Australian actor Brenton Thwaites is a talent to watch. In 2014, his versatility and charm was evident on-screen.
He stars in the lead role of Jonas in the highly anticipated The Giver. Phillip Noyce was directing the film version of Lois Lowry's classic novel, scheduled for an August release. Mr. Thwaites was starring opposite Academy Award winners Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. Moviegoers worldwide can see him as the Prince in the Disney fantasy adventure Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie as the title character and Elle Fanning as the Princess. Robert Stromberg is the film's director.
Mr. Thwaites also has a starring role in Mike Flanagan's thriller Oculus, which opened nationwide in April 2014. Additionally, he can be seen in the features Ride, opposite writer and director Helen Hunt; and Julius Avery's Son of a Gun, with Ewan McGregor and Alicia Vikander.
A graduate of Queensland University of Technology, he began his acting career on the Australian television series SLiDE and the popular Home and Away. Mr. Thwaites' breakthrough role came with the telefilm Blue Lagoon: The Awakening, for directors Mikael Salomon and Jake Newsome.
He began production on Alex Proyas' fantasy epic Gods of Egypt, alongside Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Geoffrey Rush.
