David Pablos Sánchez

Biografía

Graduated from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, where he took his degree with the film La Canción de los Niños Muertos, Ariel for Best Short Film, and selected at film festivals such as Cannes, San Sebastián, Morelia, among others. He completed a master’s degree at Columbia University, supported by the Fulbright scholarship, where he specialized in directing and screenwriting. His documentary, Una Frontera, Todas las Fronteras, premiered at idfa, selected for the official competition, in 2010. In 2013 his first fiction feature film, La Vida Después, premiered at the 70th Venice Film Festival, selected for the official competition. That same year he directed the television series, 20 y Más por el Arte, for Canal 22. His second fiction feature film, Las Elegidas, was premiered at Cannes, in the Un Certain Regard section, in 2015. The film won five Ariel Awards, including Best Film, Best Direction and Best Original Screenplay. In 2021, he released his third fiction feature, El Baile de los 41, on Netflix, worldwide. He is a member of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA).
