Ni una palabra (2022)

inglés I found the series quite enjoyable overall. Although the story's development in the first half didn't completely convince me, I was impressed by the craftsmanship and the quality of the acting performances. However, things took a turn for the better in the second half, with a much more engaging plot emerging alongside the high-quality filmmaking. As a result, I ended up being a very satisfied viewer. / Lesson learned: Life would be dreadfully dull without children. ()

Episode 1 (2022) (E01)

inglés I'll kick off my review with my usual neutral rating since the first episode served as a classic introduction to the characters and setting without revealing anything particularly essential. Sure, we know someone died, but the creators have shrouded the rest in a mysterious haze, hinting at secrets that are likely more mysterious than a mysterious castle built on top of a mysterious rock surrounded by a mysterious forest. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the opening episode, particularly its vibe and the well-drawn characters. I'm eager to peel back the layers of mystery as the series progresses. P.S. I ended up bumping up my rating afterward because witnessing someone doing kendo with a scaffolding pipe was a first for me. / Lesson learned: There are already too many phones and apps for my liking. 3*+ ()

Episode 2 (2022) (E02)

inglés I won't deny that the series managed to hook me; throughout the entire second episode, I was glued to the screen. It was packed with intriguing events, maintained a fitting pace, and kept up the unsettling atmosphere from the first episode. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that despite these positives, the story lacked significant development. It felt like we were just treading water, with style triumphing over substance. Nevertheless, it was a visually impressive ride. / Lesson learned: Women should avoid helping strangers load anything into their cars at night — a well-known fact at least since Silence of the Lambs. ()

Episode 3 (2022) (E03)

inglés After the third episode, It's clear that this series is well-crafted and thoroughly enjoyable. The cinematography is top-notch, complemented by strong performances all around. I'd love to give it a higher rating, but I can't at this point. Throughout, there's been something captivating to watch, and the atmosphere deserves praise. However, much like the previous episode, the story's development falls flat. It feels like we're stuck in the same spot. Yet, the Polish filmmakers manage to do it so convincingly that I sometimes don't even notice. How sneaky of them. / Lesson learned: When answering certain questions, a punch speaks louder than words. ()

Episode 4 (2022) (E04)

inglés At last! The Polish filmmakers have stopped stalling and demonstrated what makes their films and shows so great. The unsettling atmosphere felt even more intense this time around, accompanied by a good dose of tension. Most importantly, the narrative finally gained momentum, with plenty of developments unfolding. All the strengths I highlighted in my reviews of previous episodes persisted, leaving me satisfied as the plot gained traction and injected new life into the somewhat stagnant storyline. / Lesson learned: Poke a wasp nest and brace yourself for the sting. Yes, I speak from my own bitter experience. ()

Episode 5 (2022) (E05)

inglés As for the level of mysteriousness, see my review of the first episode. It's like opening a Russian nesting doll; one secret is revealed, but there are still more layers waiting to be uncovered. I find it to be a well-developed narrative, maintaining a high-quality, unsettling atmosphere throughout. As the conclusion draws near, the tension escalates rapidly. I'm genuinely excited to see how everything unfolds. / Lesson learned: It's almost always certain who the mother is. 4*+ ()

Episode 6 (2022) (E06)

inglés The series wrapped up with a solid final episode, though it didn't quite satisfy me as much as the one before it. The family conflict with the pharmaceutical gang felt rather odd, among a few other strange moments. However, I chose to overlook them for the most part because overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. / Lesson learned: Never underestimate determined girls. ()
