Faceless

In 2019 and 2020 Hong Kong was the scene of a series of massive protests against Chinese authorities’ dismantling of the city’s democratic institutions and legal system. In Faceless, we view the brutal protests through the eyes of four young masked Hong Kongers from different walks of life who are on the frontlines for democracy, and who speak candidly about the local authorities and the government. This is an illuminating and at times shocking documentary about one of the defining protest movements of the past decade. (Bergen International Film Festival)
