Father of Flies

Weird stuff of which I would like to say is a superior or at least not-bad piece for a B-movie production, but it is not. I'd love to say, like someone commenting here, that it makes perfect sense after the final reveal, but that's not the case either. The only upsides for me are the short running time, which doesn't get significantly boring and would force the viewer to skip scenes, and you can see at least some creative effort, but the downsides far outweigh that. The film is scripted inconsistently, many elements don't make sense and many more are left without any explanation of their meaning (the mask, the weather changes???, the visions, absolutely no background of the characters!!…), and the finale felt obscenely uninteresting in proportion to the fact that the rest of the film seems so mysterious, supernatural and "as if with more meaning". An unsatisfying shout into the darkness that's not worth paying attention to and brings nothing new to the table; it’s ok as some personal ambition of the filmmaker to make a movie, but to push it into the mainstream movie community, no.
