Sinopsis(1)

The staff of rescue centers for abandoned elephants consists mainly of men, but that is not the case in Reteti, Kenya. It is the first African community in which women work as breeders alongside men. These women take care of elephant calves and strengthen their position in society. The documentary follows a baby elephant named Shaba. She was rescued by the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, where young women from the Samburu tribe work untraditionally alongside men, trying to return sick and abandoned calves to the nature reserve. Shaba was the first elephant to be bred by women alone, opening the door not only to the next generation of young African women striving to achieve their dreams but also to the equality of society as a whole.
