Sztankó János, the freshly appointed director of a company that builds agricultural factories meets his former classmate, Palócz. Palócz is just released from the prison where he got on made-up charges. Sztankó suddenly decides to employ the engineer since he wants to show up spectacular, quick results. Due to the accelerated work speed the wall of the silo is cracked, Palócz wants to stop the construction, but Sztankó who is dazed by success and power, fits well into the local elite, has got a girlfriend, cannot slacken the pace. The silo collapses requiring victims. Sztankó lets Palócz be taken away by the police. While the loudspeakers of the city announce his appointment as a general director, his wife leaves him and the orphaned dog of Palócz barks at him. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
