El asedio de Sarajevo duró desde abril de 1992 hasta febrero de 1996. Los jóvenes fueron llamados a filas para proteger su ciudad, y algunos de ellos decidieron llevar consigo sus cámaras de vídeo para afrontar la violencia de la que fueron testigos a lo largo de esos agotadores 1.425 días. Ahora, 30 años después, nos muestran sus películas y comparten sus experiencias de rodaje en tiempos de guerra y sus reflexiones sobre el cine como medio de supervivencia y resistencia. (Filmin)

The director of this documentary about the siege of Sarajevo cleverly splits the film into two parts. The first half features grainy footage from local enthusiasts wielding 90s-era amateur cameras —low quality, but with moments that hit hard. The second half revisits these clips with commentary from the original filmmakers. While the added context is insightful, the repeated footage can get a bit dull. A good concept, but the execution falters. Still, it prompted me to dig deeper into the era, reaffirming that the Balkan wars of the 90s were a horrific display of nationalism at its worst.
