Michael worked as a miner for forty years. But times have progressed and along come inevitable changes. The coal is being phased out, the area is to be closed and a lake and recreational facilities created in its place. Michael does not like change, or his daughter Anja's environmental protests. In addition, one of the co-workers commits suicide, and Michael believes that the reason were structural changes in the company. So he makes plans for a protest and starts his wild-goose chase. However, the more the morose Michael fights the coming changes, the less support he receives. Not everything can stay the same for a million years. The bleak drama about a dying craft and the consequences of its demise won the prestigious FIPRESCI International Film Critics Award at the Munich Film Festival. (Finále Plzeň)
