Kukeri

Kukeri is a Bulgarian tradition intended to chase away evil spirits. Once a year, at the precipice of winter and spring, men and women don scary masks and dance at night around the village armed with huge bells. Kukeri features an intimate look into the world of this century-old Bulgarian tradition, where behind the terrifying surface of the custom lies a real lesson on creating deeper connections with others.
