La Saison des hommes

In Djerba, Aïcha is married to Saïd who works in Tunis for 11 months of the year. She wants to follow Saïd and suggests selling the carpets she weaves. Yet, Saïd adds another condition: first she must bear him a son. After two girls, Aicha gives birth to the long awaited son, Aziz. But, tainted by his mother's neuroses, Aziz makes their family life unbearable. Years later, Aicha returns to Djerba where she finally discovers peace, confidence and serenity. (Les Films du Losange)
