Sinopsis(1)
Ike Clanton (Robert Ryan) es un hombre poderoso que tiene atemorizados a los habitantes de Tombstone. Cuando el agente federal Wyatt Earp (James Garner) y su inseparable amigo Doc Holliday (Jason Robards), pistolero y jugador profesional, llegan a la ciudad para imponer la ley, Clanton no duda en comprar a un sheriff corrupto para acabar con ellos. A partir del momento en que los pistoleros de Clanton asesinan por la espalda a uno de los hermanos de Wyatt, la única obsesión de éste será vengar su muerte y limpiar de pistoleros la ciudad. This is a pretty standard western, and with regard to Jason Robards, you get the feeling that he only had one position in westerns and he used it. Still, it's a position that suits him and makes his characters more than tolerable. I found it a bit too sleepy for a western, which spoiled the experience of the film and its overall impression.
