Sinopsis(1)

(Sherlock Films)

inglés The reviews in Filmbooster always put me off Malevolence, but since Bereavement, its prequel, came out today, and I quite liked the trailer, I thought I would give Malevolence a chance. And the verdict? For a low budget début, it’s great! I even considered giving it a fourth star, but what prevented that were two moments where the female lead could have dealt with the villain for good, but instead she chose to escape (with a gun in her hand). The actors aren’t the best, the script is a smorgasbord of everything slasher (from Fridays, through Halloween, to TCM), but the atmosphere is fantastic, the music is brilliant and a couple of jump-scares lifted me from my chair. A pleasant surprise, Stevan Mena has great potential. 7/10 ()
