Widower Adam MacAdams (James Cromwell) passes his lonely days with his prized sheepdog, Zac, by his side. When his orphaned grandson, David, visits for the summer, he's pulled into the decades-old feud between Adam and his neighbor, Keith Moore (Colm Meaney) - years of fierce sheepherding competition have driven the men apart.
