Joe January, un guía bebedor y vividor es contratado por Paul Bonnard para encontrar a su padre y un legendario tesoro perdido. Ambos se adentran en las regiones más estériles e inaccesibles del desierto norteafricano acompañados por Dita, una prostituta ansiosa por emprender una nueva vida que desempeñará un papel crucial en la lucha de ambos hombres por la supervivencia. John Wayne and Sophia Loren are a great combination, and it is beautifully visible in their characters how they are searching for each other and eventually find each other. Sometimes playful, then strong towards the end, perhaps even overly theatrically emotional. But I didn't mind that. John Wayne again shows his classic character, but I devour it again.
