Escape from Luanda

A year in the life of Angola's only music school, situated in Luanda, the capital of Angola, and one of the world's poorest and most dangerous places. Following five characters, this film reveals not only their struggle with their country's war-ravaged past, but also their musical passion and ambition. Imagine living in a culture where your one true passion, the thing you enjoyed doing more than anything else, is frowned upon. Imagine not eating for 3 days, just so that you can feed that passion. Imagine surviving civil war, fighting for your childhood, only to face opposition from your own family for pursuing your new found freedom.
