Paul Muni was an incredible actor, and he proved it fully in this film. He played Emile Zola perfectly, and whether this was based on real events or not wouldn't matter. It's a powerful statement about how prejudices can be significant and how hatred towards certain people can escalate into what can be termed as societal transformation. The power of words is incredible. ()
