inglés Michael had an argument with Monika, his long-time girlfriend, over the weekend, and in the midst of a depression, he starts writing a diary, through which we follow the life of the main character for one week from the moment shortly after the argument to the surprising culmination. Personally, rather than the ending, the film as a whole is more interesting, and what precedes the final catharsis – the protagonist's immersion into passivity towards the outside world, closing himself off and his bitter indifference, or rather resignation, to influence his surroundings in any way (which does not mean that he stops being able to perceive its sadness). As the outside world drifts away, the internal world of the pathological protagonist begins to occupy a larger share at the expense of reality, and his fantasies increasingly detach him from other people and events – a gloomily touching example being the repainting of the kitchen in white (Monika hates white – the protagonist subconsciously seeks revenge on her – but at the same time believes that when she returns, he will convince her to accept the color – thereby unconsciously trying to repress the fact that she will never return). The film manages to perfectly evoke a depressing atmosphere and the corresponding mood in the viewer through its expressive means and plot. ()
