El joven profesor Konrad Koch es contratado para enseñar inglés en un colegio alemán en 1874. Koch nota algo malo en su primera clase: todo lo que los chicos saben de Inglaterra parte de prejuicios comunes transmitidos de una generación a otra. Con el fin de despertar algo de entusiasmo por la lengua extranjera, Koch enseña a sus alumnos un deporte curioso que viene de Gran Bretaña: el fútbol. Por desgracia, las formas no convencionales de Koch pronto le causan problemas y varios enemigos: los padres influyentes, dignatarios locales y, sobre todo, sus colegas, que sólo creen en los ejercicios y en la disciplina prusiana. Todos quieren deshacerse de Koch a cualquier precio, pero entonces sus estudiantes toman la iniciativa… (Filmin)

I love soccer and would like to see the story of how the sport came to our country. At the moment I’ll have to make do with a German story. Because when I saw in this movie how it turned out in Germany, I realized that it’s actually a pretty good story. German cinematography used to be unfairly criticized quite a lot, and I have to admit that lately, every film they make is a surprise. I instantly connected with the story and I really understood the guys who fell in love with soccer. Even I would do stupid things with a ball all day if I could. And when I was able to, I didn’t appreciate it as much. Anyway, it’s a great movie. If you like soccer, then you simply have to watch it. When I came across this movie, I didn’t hesitate and went to see it right away.
