Compuesta de dos historias basadas en dos relatos cortos de Edgar Allan Poe, "El Caso Valdemar" dirigida por el maestro del cine de terror George A. Romero, en la que una mujer joven junto a su amante, intenta mantener con vida a su anciano esposo, para que firme un testamento a su favor, a través de la hipnosis. La segunda, dirigida por el genial Diario Argento, "El Gato Negro", es la historia de un fotógrafo que mantiene una relación con una mujer, que siente pasión por los gatos y que en otra vida fue una sádica bruja. The movie is not completely polished and it is visible that it is more of a television production, but both renowned creators tried to incorporate something interesting and with sufficient horror content within an hour. And they succeeded in doing so, while utilizing Poova's dark poetic style that ventures into the supernatural, yet still giving you the overall feeling of realism. That is what makes it even more terrifying.
